Approximately two dozen show choirs from around the state will meet at State Fair Community College in Sedalia Saturday.

SEDALIA—State Fair Community College will sponsor the 2011 Show Choir Invitational Jan. 8 in the Fred E. Davis Multipurpose Center on campus.

Performances by area middle and high school show choirs will begin at 8 a.m. and continue every half hour throughout the day. The public is invited. Admission is $10 for the entire day; you may leave and re-enter throughout the day.

Trophies will be awarded in four categories: small high school choirs, large high school choirs, middle school choirs, and girls’ show choirs. Certificates also will be given for outstanding male and female vocalists, musical presentation and choreography.

SFCC’s Soundsation Express (swing choir) and Jazz Runners (jazz band) will perform before the awards ceremony.
