JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – The Missouri Highway Patrol says troopers responded to nearly 4,000 calls for service from Friday morning to 2:00 p.m., Saturday afternoon.

Trooper helped 1,790 stranded motorist across the state. Reports were filed on 878 accidents with 57 injuries and four fatalities. The Missouri Department of Transportation said freezing rain mixed with flurries caused roads to become more treacherous overnight.

The weather service says we should get a few days break from precipitation.
