Although the storms sirens in Carrollton passed the test Thursday morning, questions are pouring in from residents.  According to Fire Chief Curtis Shields, the department has had quite a few calls from people saying they could not hear the sirens.  He advises those living in the rural areas to purchase a NOAA weather radio.  Click to hear KMZU’s Chelsea Wade talk with Shields:

“The distance the sound travels is about two miles from a tower,” Shields estimated Thursday.  “However, that is completely dependent upon weather conditions.”
