UPDATE: (05/19/19, 2:15 a.m.) – West Third Street in Chillicothe is back open after flooding was reported Saturday afternoon. The Police Department says the water receded between Woodrow and Dickinson early Saturday evening. It was estimated that three feet of water was flowing over the roadway at one point.
CHILLICOTHE, Mo. – Chillicothe Police are asking drivers to avoid the area of Third Street between Dickinson and Woodrow due to water over the road.
At 5:45 p.m., Sgt Stephens estimated that approximately three feet of water was running over the roadway. Additional rainfall is expected and could cause additional road closures.
The Police Department will keep the public updated about the closures.
