CHILLICOTHE, Mo. — The Chillicothe Fire Department received word about a structure fire Saturday night.

The Chillicothe Fire Department arrived on scene at 8:27 p.m. Saturday and found an unattached garage on fire.  The homeowners had been absent from the property, at 1430 Burnam Street, for several days, and reportedly could not provide any information as to the potential cause of the fire.

Two hand lines and a deck gun were used to put out the flames with approximately 1500 gallons of water.

The cause of the fire is thought to be electrical but the official cause of the fire is not yet known and will be released by the Division of Fire Safety.
