LEE’S SUMMIT, Mo. – An anonymous tip led to a student who brought an unloaded gun to Lee’s Summit North High School Thursday.
The school district sent a letter to parents, saying a tip on the SafeSchools Alert website sent administrators and the school resource officer in search of the student. Once located, officials say the student handed over the firearm but did bring any ammunition to the school. Two students were taken into custody by the Lee’s Summit Police Department as part of the investigation.
The school said disciplinary action by the school is confidential and cannot be made public.
