An Odessa High School student reported being struck by a motorist Thursday morning and the driver left the scene.

According to Acting Police Chief Kevin Bellmyer the child was able to continue on to Odessa High School and reported the incident to the staff.

Officer Marti Steelman states the child was near the intersection of 3rd and Golf about 7:08 a.m. when a blue 4-door passenger vehicle with square headlights collided with him. The vehicle did not stop and continued in an unknown direction.

The child sustained some minor injuries but was relatively unhurt.
