Just after noon Wednesday, Waverly and Carroll County law enforcement took up a search for an individual wanted on a felony probation violation warrant, after an anonymous tip led to the suspect’s location.
According to Waverly Police Chief Christopher Looney, he received the tip and proceeded to the Casey’s convenience store on Highway 24 in Waverly. The suspects name is Kelly Coke, a white male. When Coke was approached by Chief Looney, he fled on foot. After a short foot chase an unidentified vehicle pulled over and picked the suspect up before driving away.
According to Carroll County 9/11 scanner traffic, Coke has a known history of assaulting law officers and is to be considered armed and dangerous. Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Kelly Coke is urged to not approach him but to call local law enforcement immediately.
He is known to have connections in the Carrollton and Waverly areas.
