In a filing Wednesday, the lawyer for Destanie D. Batson, 23 filed a motion to continue a preliminary hearing set for next week and to change the venue of the case. Batson was one of three local residents charged with felony counts of knowingly burning and property damage in the first degree.

Investigators say Batson, James E. Haight and Kyle J. Mace set fire to the Canadian Pacific railroad bridge over Grand River on October 29th of this year.
