PETTIS COUNTY, Mo. – A single-vehicle accident in Pettis County left one man in the hospital Thursday afternoon.

Shortly before 2:10 p.m. today, Harlan Reid, 62, of Sweet Springs, was eastbound on Smelser Road, about 300 feet west of US 65 Highway, when his car ran off the roadway. Reid’s vehicle then overturned and came to rest on its driver’s side. Reid received moderate injuries, for which  a private vehicle transported him to Bothwell Hospital.

Reid was alleged to have been wearing his seatbelt at the time of the accident.
