PETTIS COUNTY, Mo. — The Missouri State Highway Patrol is reporting investigating a crash in Pettis County Tuesday morning.

According to a crash report from the Highway Patrol, the accident happened as a vehicle driven by Braden T. Butts, 18, of Sweet Springs, was westbound on Highway 50 about a mile east of Buckley Road at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday.

Butts’ vehicle ran off the left side of the road and crossed the median. He then traveled over the eastbound lanes and ran off the north side of the roadway.

The vehicle reportedly hit the ground and became airborne before coming to rest in a field.

Butts was moderately injured and was taken to Western Missouri Medical Center to be treated.
