Click to hear KMZU’s Ashley Johnson speak with Tina Avalon Superintendent Jana Holcer:
Students at Tina-Avalon School will begin their Christmas vacation following classes on Friday. Holcer said the first half of the school year has gone well and the second semester looks to be a busy one. “We are preparing for our testing that’s coming up in April,” said Holcer ,”The teachers are working hard and getting our students ready for that. Of course, we’ll still have a few months left of activities for the students to participate in and enjoy.”
Holcer said the district is in good financial standing moving into the second half of the school year. “We did buy a bus and we made some updates to the building this year, so our budget isn’t looking as positive as it has in years past, but every year we have to do some updating to keep the building the way we need it,” said Holcer, “Of course, buying a bus is always expensive, but Tina Avalon is doing well financially.”
January 5th will kick off the remaining half of the school year for students in the T-A District.
