The Missouri Department of Agriculture recently announced an agriculture disaster relief fund to help the state’s farmers recover from severe storms, floods and tornadoes.
This week Monsanto presented Gov. Jay Nixon with the first contribution – a check for $100,000. In addition, the Republic of China (Taiwan) has contributed $50,000 to the fund.
State Ag Director Dr. Jon Hagler says there’s not been a great deal of assistance requests yet but he expects that to change as people continue through the recovery process.
