CHILLICOTHE, Mo. – The Chillicothe City Council will gather for their first meeting of August Monday, August 10, 2015.
Part of the evening’s agenda will be a discussion and ordinance accepting a bid for the construction of a shelter house at the Fire Training Center.
Also, an ordinance will be voted on that would impose a use tax at the same rate as the local sales tax and for general revenue purposes. It would be put to a vote in the November 3rd election later this year.
There will also be discussion and a possible ordinance to discontinue collection and application of a tax on the titling of motor vehicles purchased from outside the state.
Council will also hear from Mayor Chuck Haney on a resolution supporting the city of Marceline’s Veteran’s Home Initiative.
Other discussions will focus on an appointment to the planning and zoning board, a city vehicle to put up for bid and the possible purchase of a new slide for Chilli Bay.
The meeting will get underway at 6:30 p.m. in council chambers of City Hall, 715 Washington St., Chillicothe, Mo.
