The 2013 tax levy is the subject of discussion at a public hearing Monday night in Sweet Springs. Click to hear KMZU’s Sarah Scott speak with Superintendent Donna Wright:
The District taxed $3.49 in the incidental, and $0.64 in the debt service this year. They are looking at a rate of $3.35 in the incidental, and a continued rate of $0.64 for the debt service. “We are a district that voluntarily rolls back the tax rate for our patrons. And so, with the legislation that’s out there, we have to go up and down each year to make sure we can tax what we’re looking for and what we need,” said Wright.
The Board of Education will also review lighting bids for the football field. They will also consider approval of Connie Dohrman and Jeannie Welch-Kurdle as additions to the staff and approval of the 2013/2014 substitute list.
That meeting gets underway at 7:00. Following their regular session, the Board will move into a closed meeting to discuss personnel.
