BOONE COUNTY, Mo. – Another trial date has been set for a Columbia murder case already postponed on two occasions in Boone County.
Thursday afternoon, the court notified attorneys that the trial of Devontre DeShawn Kennedy, 24, is tentatively set for April 2, 2019. A pre-trial conference was also scheduled to take place on March 18th.
Kennedy and a co-defendant, Darold D. Pruitt, 45, both of Columbia, are accused in the March shooting that killed Shamya Brimmage 25, and wounded a 23 year old woman at a home on Madison Street.
Pruitt is scheduled to go to trial on February 13, 2019.
