JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. — The University of Missouri announced yesterday it will be reinstating the livestock judging team on the MU campus. This comes after receiving repeated comments and inquiries during regular meetings of the Missouri House Subcommittee on Agriculture Education.

According to a news release, livestock evaluation courses will be created and lead by Mizzou graduate student Britton Francis, starting in the Fall of 2017. The release also states the Subcommittee heard hours of testimony on the importance of agriculture education, as well as deficiencies within the state where agriculture education programs are falling through the cracks.

The Subcommittee heard from Missouri 4-H volunteers and will hear from the Director of UM Extension next Tuesday.
