LIVINGSTON COUNTY, Mo. – The occupant was not at home when a fire started at a residence in Chillicothe Tuesday evening.

The Chillicothe Fire Department received the call around 6:37 yesterday at 823 Jansen. Responders found fire on the north exterior of the structure and attacked with a water and foam mixture. The damage to the home was confined to that exterior wall and a basement floor joist, with significant smoke damage throughout the house.

The cause of the fire is being investigated by the Missouri Fire Marshall’s Office.
