Crews re-opened Third Street Wednesday morning. It has been shut down since late July.

“This has been a little frustrating. You know, that’s kind of a main path through there, and of course we have Central School right next to it,” said Arthur, “And it’s been, you know, kind of frustrating to have that all closed down while school’s trying to go on. So it’s going to be a big relief.”

Third Street has been completely rebuilt from Vine to Washington Street. All the asphalt was replaced with concrete, and ADA compliant pedestrian crosswalks were installed.

Construction was originally scheduled for a much earlier completion date, but was met with delays.
