Wet roads appear to be the blame for an early morning accident in Ray County today (Mon). The Highway Patrol reports 26-year-old Neva Mathews of Orrick was traveling south on Route-O, just north of 210-Highway when she apparently lost control of her vehicle on the wet pavement. She then crossed the center line, traveled off the opposite side of the road and down an embankment where her car struck the ground and overturned. Mathews sustained moderate injuries and was taken to Liberty Hospital. Her two occupants, 7-year-old Libby Mathews and 15-year-old Paiton Howe both received minor injuries. The 15-year-old child was taken to North Kansas City Hospital. The younger child was treated and released at the scene.
