JOHNSON COUNTY, Mo. — A resident from Whiteman Air Force Base and his two passengers from Knob Noster all sustained injuries during a one vehicle accident in Johnson County.

According to the crash report, a vehicle driven by Zecharias W. Hogan, 18, of whiteman AFB was traveling on NE 700, just West of MO-23 at around 11:40 p.m. Friday.

Hogan then failed to negotiate a curve, causing his vehicle to travel off the left side of the roadway and strike a tree.

Hogan sustained serious injuries and was transported by staff to St. Lukes on the Plaza, while his two passengers, Brandon L. Jaco, 17, and Paul E. Averbeck, 18, of Knob Noster received moderate injuries.

Both Jaco and Averbeck were taken by Johnson County Ambulance District to Centerpoint Hospital for treatment.

All three occupants were reportedly wearing seat belts at the time of the accident.
