JACKSON COUNTY, Mo. — A three-vehicle accident caused serious injuries to a driver in Jackson County Friday. According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, a vehicle being driven by Kansas City resident, Allen G. Summit, 40, was traveling eastbound on I-70 at the 22.2 mile marker when his vehicle travelled off the left side of the roadway, through the median and entered the westbound lanes and struck a vehicle being driven by Erika L. Acord, 25, of Blue Springs. Another vehicle, driven by Shauna L. Musick, 53, of Holden was struck by a guard cable. The crash occurred around 4:48 p.m. Friday. Acord was minorly injured. Summit’s passenger, Grain Valley resident, Monica L. Butler, 31, was moderately injured. Summit suffered serious injuries. All three were transported by EMS to Centerpoint for treatment.
