The 3rd annual “Bob James Jazz Festival” is being held Friday and Saturday, May 17th and 18th in Marshall.  The event  is expected to have many musical performances in addition to several classes.  Click to hear KMZU’s Chelsea Wade talk with Marshall Cultural Council President Eric Crump:

Eric Crump

Crump said this year’s festival is taking place over two-days because of its increasing popularity.  “We continue to grow and we want to grow at a steady pace.  The first year we maybe had 100 people.  In 2012, we more than doubled the attendance.  We hope this event will keep growing.”

A few acts will perform at the Eckilson-Mabee Theatre on Friday.  The main event will be held in the Harold Lickey Auditorium on Saturday.  The first Bob James Music Scholarship will be awarded to a local student on Saturday night.

Tickets are $25 each and can be purchased online or at the door.
