Kinney said they are required to have a floodplain ordinance in their records.  If not, FEMA would not be able to help them in case of an emergency.  A tourism tax committee was also discussed.  Kinney said they would make recommendations on uses for the tax that comes comes from the hotels.  “There’s been a lot of complaints in the past that the money hasn’t been spent in the best way that it could be,” said Kinney, “So, if I put a committee together, their whole purpose is is to research and to make the best recommendations on where to disperse the funds.”  They plan to vote and make recommendations at their next meeting.
