The Houston E. Mull FFA Memorial Scholarship ride will begin at the Saline County Fairgrounds Saturday Nov. 5th. The area FFA Chapter will serve breakfast from 7 to 9 a.m. Riders will then trailer horses to the Paxton farm located south of Marshall. The ride is set to start at 10 a.m. Lunch will be served on the trail and the group should return back to the fairgrounds around 2 to 3 that afternoon.
A steak dinner will be served that evening and there will be an auction to raise money for the scholarships.
Registration for the trail ride is $30 per person or $140 for an immediate family of 5. Non-riders can enjoy the steak dinner and auction for $10.
Directions: Saline County Fairgrounds are located on the south side of Marshall just east of Hwy 65.
For the Farm: About 7 miles south of Marshall, or about a mile north of I-70, turn east on Keokuk Ave. Follow the gravel road about 3.4 miles to the farm. There will be a blue county road sign reading 12612. Signs will be posted.
Camping is available Fri. and Sat. nights at the Saline County Fairgrounds for $15 each night. Generators are allowed.
Dry camping is available at the Paxton farm.
