Update: The Missouri State Highway patrol has released details in a story that we first reported yesterday afternoon. According to the report, Timothy Reed, 54, of Centerview, was traveling northbound on a side road near highway 50 when he failed to yield and entered the path of a train. Reed was transported to Centerpoint Hospital with moderate injuries. Officials state the only kind of signal at the crossing was a crossbuck sign.
Update: We have spoken with Missouri State Highway Patrol officials who have, once again, confirmed that this was a train versus car accident. Injuries have been reported, but the extent of those injuries and names of those involved have not yet been released. Stay tuned to KMZU for further updates.
