TRENTON, Mo. — Fire officials from multiple area agencies were at the scene of a massive blaze on Main Street in Trenton for more than six hours Monday afternoon.
According to a news release from the Chillicothe Fire Department, the blaze involved three businesses housed within the same structure in the 600 block of Main Street in Trenton.
The Trenton Fire Department called in mutual aid from Chillicothe, whose firefighters responded with an aerial truck.
Extensive fire was reported on three sides of the building. The blaze also impacted the roof, which completely collapsed.
In addition to Chillicothe’s aerial truck, the Trenton Fire Department employed an aerial truck and two pumpers.
Chillicothe reported using nearly 85,000 gallons of water to douse the flames.
Two of the three buildings within the single structure were total losses, with only the Trenton Chamber of Commerce partially spared total destruction. The buildings lost were an antique store and the Trenton License Office.
