Trenton Police Chief Tommy Wright has invited police and fire departments from all over the state of Missouri to participate in the “Hot Pursuit” Chili Cookoff. He says, “Everyone thinks they’re such good cooks. Come on out and we’ll take you on.”

The event is happening October 4th from 9:00 a.m. till 3:00 p.m. Registration will begin at 9:00 but they will let people start setting up at early at 6 or 7 if they choose. The fun takes place at Eastside Park in Trenton, MO which is located just off 10th Street. An interactive Google Map is posted at the bottom of this page. There are two categories. The first is CASI which is basically a meat and gravy style chili without beans. The other is Homestyle which means any and all ingredients that you make your chili with. The registration fee is $25, however, anyone who is interested in entering both categories will get a discounted fee.

Also happening during the Chili Cookoff is a Donut Eating Contest. Chief Wright says the rules are very simple, “As many donuts as you can eat in three minutes and if you puke, you’re disqualified.” The cost to enter the donut eating contest is $10 and starts at 11:00 a.m. Chief Wright encourages you to pre-register.

100% of the proceeds taken in during the day’s events go to benefit the Trenton Police Department’s North Central Missouri College Criminal Justice Scholarship to help students pursuing a career in criminal justice.

You can check out the Trenton Police Department on their Facebook page.
