BOONE COUNTY, Mo.- A Columbia man, who was arrested last year for allegedly attempting to make sexual contact with a 14-year-old boy, is scheduled to appear in court for the start of a jury trial in Boone County tomorrow.
Zachary Davis, 23, was formally charged last year with one count of attempted enticement of a child under the age of 15, one count of sexual misconduct or attempt involving a child under the age of 15 and one count of attempted statutory sodomy in the second degree.
Davis engaged in e-mail communication with a decoy , who was a detective with the Sheriff’s Cyber Crimes Task Force. He allegedly arrived at a predetermined meeting place at a local business to meet up with what he thought was a 14-year-old boy.
Yesterday, January 30, 2017, Davis appeared alongside his attorney for a continued hearing. Trial is scheduled for tomorrow, February 1, 2017, at 9:00 a.m., at the Boone County Courthouse.
