A Chillicothe man’s fate will be decided by a group of 12 people in January. During a court hearing Tuesday morning, a judge set a date for a jury trial in the case against Jesse Perez, 31. He is charged with burglary and armed criminal action related to an alleged home invasion and shooting in April 2012.
Four other people were also charged in the case. In August, Jeremy and Jeremiah Orona, 23, pleaded guilty to one count of burglary each and were sentenced to five years in the Department of Corrections. Jennifer McMullin, 41, and Jeffery Stevens, 34, have both pleaded not guilty. Stevens is expected to have a motion hearing on Oct. 16.
Perez will face his peers on Jan. 18, 2013.
