CARTHAGE, Mo. (AP) – A southwest Missouri man accused of killing his infant son and dumping his body in a river will not go on trial until April.

Salazar’s attorneys asked in a hearing Monday to have the trial delayed until April 4 and prosecutors did not object.
Salazar told police that his son had been kidnapped by two masked men, prompting an intense 38-hour search before the boy’s body was found in the Spring River east of Carthage.
A state pathologist ruled the death a homicide.
