BOONE COUNTY, Mo. – An attorney scheduling conflict has caused the postponement of trial setting in Boone County.
The attorney for Devontre D. Kennedy, 24, of Columbia, filed a motion in the murder case, without objection from the newly assigned prosecutor. Kennedy is charged with second degree murder, discharging a firearm into a habitable structure and assault in the second degree. Investigators allege that Kennedy and Darold D. Pruitt, 45, are responsible for the shooting death of Shamya Brimmage, 25, and wounding of a 23 year old woman in March of 2017.
If no further conflict arises, the criminal setting is tentatively set for 5:00 p.m. on Monday, March 25th.
