TRIPLETT, Mo.- Formal charges were filed in Chariton County Circuit Court against a Triplett man accused of engaging in sexual intercourse with an a juvenile victim.

According to court records, Alan C. Osterman, 33, is facing multiple felonies including first degree burglary, second degree statutory rape and fourth degree child molestation with child less than 17 years of age. He is also facing a misdemeanor charge of second degree sexual abuse.

A filed probable cause statement indicates, on August 8, 2018, a deputy with the Chariton County Sheriff’s Department was advised of a possible sexual assault at a residence on Highway M. Upon arrival the reporting party advised the deputy that Ostermann entered through a bedroom window and allegedly touched the victim sexually.

Ostermann, who was on scene upon the deputies arrival, admitted to climbing through the bedroom window and engaging in sexual intercourse with the reported victim.

A judge was assigned to the case yesterday, August 9, and bond was set at $50,000 cash-only. Future court proceedings are currently pending.
