The Missouri State Highway Patrol is holding a Student Alliance Program in an effort to educate kids about a career on the force.  Sergeant Brent Bernhardt says it’s the third time Troop B has conducted the event.

“They’re going to be learning a little bit about patrol history, firearms, they’ll be shooting in our indoor range, they’ll be learning about traffic safety, marine operations, stop and approach and crime scene investigation just to name a few of the topics that will be covered during this particular program.”

The course is limited to 20 students.

“All they need to do is contact me at the Troop B headquarters by telephone,” he says.  “We are accepting applications until February the 15th.”

The course will be held on two consecutive Saturdays beginning March 16.  Applications can be obtained at the Troop B Headquarters, located at 308 Pine Crest Drive, Macon, Missouri; or by calling Sergeant Brent Bernhardt at 660-385-2132.
