MONITEAU COUNTY, Mo.- On Saturday, May 27, 2017, deputies with the Moniteau County Sheriff’s Office went to a residence located on North East Street in California, Mo., on an attempt to serve an arrest warrant. Subsequently, two California residents were apprehended.
Carla E. Hemlin, 34, had an outstanding warrant for her arrest on a felony charge of child endangerment in the first-degree with no bond. Deputies made contact with Hemlin at the residence, and observed items of drug paraphernalia inside. Upon execution of warrant for property, deputies recovered and undisclosed amount of methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, packaging materials and scales. Hemlin will appear on June 30, 2017, for a scheduled arraignment at 9:00 a.m.
Kenneth R. Hemlin, 35, was taken into custody at the scene and was transported to the Moniteau County Jail where he remains in custody on a $75,00 cash/surety bond. Hemlin has been formally charged with felony delivery of a controlled substance to a person less than 17 years of age. He will appear in court for a counsel status hearing on July 11, 2017, at 9:00 a.m.
