The first one was in Christian County Friday afternoon. The Highway Patrol reports Curtis Baker, 25, of Sparta was heading east on Highway 14 just east of Ozark when he slid into the path of Sarah Morgan, 47, of Sparta. The two collided. Morgan had serious injuries. Her passenger Louise Morgan, 70, also from Sparta had moderate injuries. They were taken to Mercy Hospital in Springfield. Baker was taken to Cox South Hospital in Springfield where he was later pronounced dead.
The second one was in Holt County Friday afternoon. Reports indicate Ronald Vancamp, 58, of Texas was heading northbound on I-29 south of Craig when he traveled off the roadway and went into oncoming traffic in his tractor trailor rig. Vancamp hit Lori Hartman, 59, of Iowa head on. Vancamp and his passenger Mary Curtis, 55, both had moderate injuries and were taken to Fairfax Community Hospital. Hartman was pronounced dead on the scene.
