BENTON COUNTY, Mo. – Two Warrensburg residents were hospitalized with moderate injuries after a collision Wednesday night in Benton County.

The Missouri Highway Patrol report says the two injured were in opposite cars that collided nearly head on at the intersection of 65 and 7 Highways, just before 8:00 p.m. last night. Joseph Hand, 63, of Clinton, reportedly failed to stop at a stop sign and hit Michael Thomas, 57, of Harrisonville. Thomas and Hand’s passenger, Leah Young, 49, of Harrisonville, were transported to Bothwell Hospital for treatment.

Hand was transported to the Benton County Jail and held for felony driving while intoxicated and a stop sign violation.
