LINN COUNTY, Mo. — A tip from a confidential informant led to the arrest of and charges for two Marceline residents Tuesday.

According to probable cause statements filed in a Linn County courtroom, officers responded to the 200 block of East Santa Fe in Marceline after they were made aware that drugs were being sold out of a residence in the area.

Marceline Police officers responded to the home around 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 19 and served a search warrant on the residents, identified as Rodney Stephen Keil, 41 and Briana J. Jefferson, 39.

Inside the home, investigators found two children and numerous drugs and drug-related items.

Among the evidence logged was more than 3 grams of methamphetamine, dozens of glass pipes commonly used for meth consumption, as well as multiple firearms found within the home.

Police also found a knife on Kiel’s person when they took him into custody, the probable cause statement alleges.

Both Kiel and Jefferson were arrested and transferred to the Chariton County Jail.

Charges against both subjects include felony possession of a controlled substance, keeping or maintaining a public nuisance and two counts each of endangering the welfare of a child and unlawful use of drug paraphernalia.

In addition, Kiel faces a single felony for unlawful use of a weapon. Bond for Kiel is set at $50,000, cash or surety allowed while Jefferson is held on $25,000 bond.
