(Kansas City, Missouri) An Independence man and a Kansas City Missouri man were sentenced in federal court Tuesday, for their roles in a $1.2 million arson and insurance fraud conspiracy. Joshua Stamps, 28, of Independence was sentenced to 12 years and one month in federal prison without parole. His co-defendant, John S. Wayne, 31, of Kansas City was sentenced to 5 years without parole. Stamps was ordered to pay $429,991 in restitution and Wayne is to pay $198.824 for his restitution. Stamps and Wayne pleaded guilty to purchasing, over insuring and burning houses in the Kansas City area.
