CLAY COUNTY, MO – Two Kansas City residents were involved in a fatal crash Monday evening, according to Highway Patrol.
A crash report states, Kelly Cannon, 39, was the driver of a passenger vehicle that fled from law enforcement at Highway 169 and Amory Road after failing to yield to an emergency vehicle. The car hit a spike strip deployed by Clay County Sheriff’s Department and overturned off the the left side of the northbound lanes.
Kelly and two occupants were ejected during the crash. She was seriously injured. Passengers, Jeffery Baldwin, 36, and Wilma McClasky, 59, both died of injuries after the crash.
