ST. JOSEPH, Mo – A preliminary hearing was held yesterday for a St. Joseph man charged with Robbery.
According to St. Joseph Police Department, Jean Michael Brown, 36, agreed to meet a victim on August 12 at an apartment complex, where he put the victim in a headlock and stole items from their pockets, including the victim’s car keys. Brown assaulted the victim with a kick to the head, before fleeing in the victim’s car with another suspect.
The other suspect, K Lee Johnson, 24, also has a preliminary hearing on September 6 at 11 a.m.
Both suspects have an extensive criminal past that includes convictions of manufacturing methamphetamine, operating a vehicle without a license, disorderly conduct and stealing a motor vehicle in Missouri, Kansas, Minnesota and Iowa.
Both are currently in Buchanan County Law Enforcement Center facing 2nd Degree Robbery charges.
