WASHINGTON (AP) — The United States has lost its sterling AAA credit rating. Standard & Poor’s lowered the nation’s rating by one notch to AA-plus. Another credit rating agency, Moody’s, says it’s keeping its AAA rating on the nation’s debt, but that it might still lower it.
WASHINGTON (AP) — The Obama administration is challenging Standard & Poor’s downgrade of the nation’s credit rating. Sources familiar with the discussions say the S&P analysis was fundamentally flawed. S&P had sent the administration a draft document in the early afternoon Friday and the administration, after examining the numbers, challenged the analysis.
