Enrollment at the University of Central Missouri is on track to set a new record.
Classes began on Tuesday, and preliminary data indicates enrollment may be at an all-time high. This will be the fourth consecutive increase in student numberrs. The new information indicates there are 12,297 undergraduate and graduate students enrolled at UCM this semester; almost five-and-a-half percent more than last fall.
The last date for students to add or drop classes is Tuesday, and exact enrollment data will not be released until mid-September.
UCM President Chuck Ambrose attributes their growing numbers to initiatives such as Learning to a Greater Degree. The goal of the program is to help students stay in school and graduate on time.
The campaign was launched last spring.
