UPDATE: (10/10/18, 3:10 a.m.) – Firefighters were able to bring the victims to safety about an hour after the call.

RAY COUNTY, Mo. – At 1:20 a.m. Wednesday morning, October 10, emergency crews were sent to a water rescue in Ray County.

Vehicles should never be driven through rushing water, less than two feet of moving water can carry most common sized vehicles away.

The cellphone report was from several people in a vehicle stuck in high water on Long Lake Road near Highway 10. When the first Hardin fire unit arrived on scene, they could hear someone yelling in the distance but could not see the vehicle.

Firefighters are attempting to get into the flooded area using a brush truck at this time.
