UPDATE: (07/06/15) 1:15 p.m. The Clay County Sheriff’s Office is reporting that the north and southbound lanes of I-35 are now open.
PLEASANT VALLEY, Mo. – Both the north and southbound lanes of I-35 are closed in Clay County, Missouri, near Liberty.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, all lanes closed Monday morning between I-435 and MO-152 due to a problem with the gas line near the Pleasant Valley exit.
The gas line is located in an area that is also the site of a construction project. MoDOT officials confirmed the gas line was struck by a contractor working in the area. MGE is on scene attempting to repair the leak by working on a valve further up the line.
I-35 will remain closed until the gas leak is fixed..
