Royals catcher and World Series MVP, Salvador Perez


UPDATE: 2:30 p.m.- KMZU’s Andy Campbell was in the middle of the crowd catching all the waves from the hundreds of thousands of dedicated Royals fans who made their way to the streets of downtown KC, creating a crowd of over 600,000 people. 

Campbell said the intensity of the fans as well as the pride felt by all was an overwhelming feeling with no way to compare. And of course he was more than excited to see the boys in blue!

A small portion of the enormous crowd of fans gathered to show support for our 2015 World Series Champs, the Kansas City Royals.



Hundreds of thousands of Royals fans are gathering in downtown Kansas City to celebrate the recently crowned World Champions.  A sea of blue has flooded the streets as businesses and schools in the metro area closed for the Royals Celebration.

A representative with DSS said crews have been working tirelessly through the early morning to make sure the parade is ready and looks the part.

The parade kicks off at Power and Light, and the Sprint Center at noon as the boys in blue will make their way to Union Station Royals 3for a rally beginning at 2 p.m.

City representatives said more than 200 thousand people are expected at this afternoon’s celebration.
