(Johnson County Fire Protection District)

(UPDATE: 05/16/17 08:47 p.m.)- According to a Facebook post by the Johnson County Fire Protection District, at around 3:30 p.m.,  fire officials responded to a reported structure fire at 722 NW OO Highway in northern Johnson County.  

As crews arrived on scene of the residence, heavy smoke was showing from the exterior. Strong winds allegedly fueled the fire and quickly spread the fire throughout the residence.

JCFPD Station 6, Johnson County Fire Protection District #2 and Odessa Fire & Rescue Protection District also responded to assist.

The residence was deemed a total loss. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

At around 8:30 p.m. personnel were still working to extinguish the fire.

(UPDATE:05/16/17 7:21 p.m.)- Witness reports are suggesting that Johnson County Sheriff deputies and troopers of the Missouri Highway Patrol are also on scene assisting.

Officials with the Johnson County Fire Protection District and Johnson County Sheriff’s Office were unable to comment on the extent of the structure fire.


JOHNSON COUNTY, Mo.- KMZU has received multiple reports of a structure fire in Johnson County near Centerview, Mo., around the area of OO Highway.

Fire officials in Johnson County have not provided any formal information as to the reported fire. It is believed that multiple fire departments were called to respond to the scene and are working to suppress the blaze.
