UPDATE: (11/30/2015) 1:30 p.m.- An officer involved shooting which occurred Sunday, November 29, 2015, around 10:18 a.m. was fatal for the armed suspect. 

That man has now been identified as Lionel S. Kerns, 53, of Stewartsville, Missouri. 

No further details have been released at this time due to the on-going investigation by the Missouri State Highway Patrol’s Division of Drug and Crime Control as well as the Dekalb County Sheriff’s Department.

 

DEKALB COUNTY, Mo. – A suspect was fatally wounded after officers responded to a domestic disturbance in Dekalb County, Sunday, November 29, 2015, at 10:18 a.m.

According to a release from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, both the Dekalb County Sheriff’s Department and the highway patrol responded to a domestic disturbance call at the intersection of US 36 and Thorton Road in Dekalb County.

Upon arriving at the scene officers discovered a white male suspect wielding a weapon. When officers ordered the suspect to put the weapon down the suspect pointed the weapon at the officers. The patrolmen in turn fired their weapons, fatally wounding the suspect.

No names have been released at this time.
