UPDATE: 07/13/2017 10:12:07 a.m.– The Mid-Missouri Major Case Squad has apprehended another suspect in connection with the Audrain County murder that remains under investigation.
According to Detective O’Sullivan with the Boone County Sheriff’s Department, Justin Traughber, 37, of O’Fallon, Mo., was arrested by Boone County officials on Tuesday, July 11, 2017, while walking along the 2800 block of Mayberry. A gun linked to Traughber was seized at a residence he’s known to stay at on Mayberry. Det. O’Sullivan would not comment on the significance of the weapon or if its related to the homicide investigation.
Traughber was allegedly in possession of methamphetamine and several items of meth paraphernalia. He remains in custody at the Boone County Detention Facility on preliminary drug charges as well as unlawful use of a weapon and warrants. Bond in Boone County has been set at $63,886.
Charges related to the homicide investigation have not been filed against Traughber in Audrain County.
UPDATE: 07/10/2017 4:16:21 PM– According to a release from the Mid-Missouri Major Case Squad, two suspects are in custody and a third is being sought in connection with a homicide last week, July 6, 2017, in rural Audrain County near the Centralia Battlefield.
Richard N. Henry III, 37, of Overland, Mo., and Arline L. Diedrich, 39, of St. Ann, Mo., are being held in the Audrain County Jail in Mexico, Mo., awaiting formal charges relating to the case.
Both Henry and Diedrich were arrested yesterday, July 9, 2017, at Henry’s residence in Overland by detectives with the Mid-Missouri Major Case Squad.
On Thursday, July 6, 2017, a passerby located the body now identified as Leon Wilder III, 30, of Columbia, Mo., along Audrain County Road 997, north of Grassland School Road. Law enforcement and emergency medical personnel were dispatched to the scene around 2:20 p.m.
An autopsy by the Boone County Medical Examiner determined the victim died from a gunshot wound.
AUDRAIN COUNTY, Mo. — A body was found near a rural road in Audrain County Thursday.
That is according to the Audrain County Sheriff’s Department. The body was found near Audrain County Road 997 at approximately 2:40 p.m. Thursday.
The body was reportedly found near the Audrain-Boone County line southeast of Centralia.
The investigation is ongoing and the Mid-Missouri Major Case Squad was called in to assist with the inquiry into the body and how the person died, however authorities said foul play is suspected at this time.
