UPDATE: 08/23/2017 12:03 a.m. – The Johnson County Fire Protection District says one man was rescued and three others located safe during a water rescue that started around 3:30 Tuesday afternoon. The water rescue division responded when a man called to say he was trapped in a tree along the Clearfork Branch of the Blackwater River, west of Knob Noster. The man also said that three other subject were missing in the fast flowing river. The man was located and reported safe around 4:13pm. and the other three were located out of the flood water around 4:57pm. No one was injured during the incident.

UPDATE: 08/22/2017 6:11:00 p.m.- According to a statement from the Johnson County Fire Protection District the water rescue incident west of Knob Noster has been completed.

The report indicates all subjects have been accounted for. Formal information is expected to be released soon. 


JOHNSON COUNTY, Mo.- The Johnson County Fire Protection is actively working a water rescue incident just west of Knob Noster, Mo.

According to a post on their Facebook page a law enforcement boat is in the water and aircraft is involved in the search. Emergency personnel are reportedly located at NE 23 Hwy at baseball fields, near NE 23 Hwy and NE Route MM.

No further information was disclosed in the report and number of parties involved in rescue are unknown at this time.
